Creedence Clearwater Revival is an american blues-rock band formed Berkeley in 1958. The group was composed of 4 members, the leader, singer, guitarist John Fogerty, his brother Thomas (Tom) Fogerty also guitarist and singer, Doug (Cosmo) Clifford who was drummer of the group and Stewart (Stu) Cook formerly pianist then bassist. Some of their main hits Proud Mary, Fortunate Son – songs that have been covered by many artists in many languages. The band was active between 1959 and 1972 and disbanded after internal tentions that rose up since 1971 mainly due to John Fogerty’s ambitions. Nonetheless, Doug clifford and Stewart Cook created Creedence Clearwater Revisited in 1995, a group revisiting the classics of the original group that was Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Some of their early songs took a strong influence from the blues songs of the time, as much from a lyrical standpoint as a rythmical standpoint.
